We’re as renowned for our people as we are for our tech. So, once a month, we put a member of our team in the spotlight to learn more about their role, why they’re good at it, and what their advice is for the wider world of marketing. Next up it’s Steven Pinkney…
1. Summarise your role in one paragraph
I sit within the automation consultant team as a dedicated support for a number of our self-service clients. Working alongside Lee Senior I offer strategy advice, email delivery support, campaign analysis and full training on the Force24 portal.
2. What’s your favourite part of the job?
My favourite part of the job is the diversity of the role. Having the opportunity to work with a wide range of clients from different industries on a daily basis really enhances my enthusiasm in the role. With new clients regularly being secured to take advantage of the portal too, repetitiveness certainly isn’t a worry.
3. Which one word would your colleagues use to describe you?
I would hope that my colleagues would describe me as persistent – being new to the role I have asked plenty of questions to take advantage of everyone’s knowledge of everything Force24 and the platform. This means my own insight is constantly evolving and I can pass on to the clients I work with.
4. And the word you think best describes Force24?
Progressive! Whilst the Force24 portal is already very impressive, expand our features constantly – we’re always considering ways to make things easier for the client and improve the service provided as a whole.
5. Why do you personally think Force24 stands out from competitors?
Whilst our portal stands out from the crowd, it is the people within the company who really ensure Force24 shines. Each department is made up of highly skilled professionals, who share their expertise to provide the best possible outcome for each individual client.
6. The phone rings and it’s your dream client… who would it be?
Controversial choice from an employee of a Leeds-based company, but I would have to say Manchester United. I am a lifelong fan of the team, but they have also become a renowned global brand – along with huge sponsorships from the likes of Adidas and Chevrolet. They would be really exciting to work alongside.
7. What’s your favourite feature within Force24’s marketing automation platform?
I would have to join the consensus and say the Journey Manager. This feature breaks down the process of building a complex campaign into logical progressive steps, and the ‘drag and drop’ of each element keeps ease of use at the fore front. The amount of time saved is something that clients are enthusiastic to take advantage of.
8. The office attracts quite a lot of attention from visitors. What’s the best bit?
The open plan office really enhances the collaborative working environment here at Force24, but the kitchen area would be my pick for the best bit. There’s always someone in there taking advantage of the fully stocked fridge and cupboards!
9. What is the biggest challenge facing the marketing industry over the next 12 months?
I would say that the biggest challenge in the industry would be GDPR. Despite the daunting date having now passed, there will still be a period of time before companies and clients feel comfortable that they are being compliant. Thankfully, Force24 have been preparing for this date and are well equipped to provide accurate advice and protection for our clients.
10. And your top marketing hack?
It doesn’t only apply to marketing, but my hack would be to always exceed expectation. Going above and beyond what a client has asked for goes a long way in reinforcing the significance of client satisfaction, as well as the importance of developing the client relationship.
