Richard Branson, I have to disagree. Here's why...

I thought this would be a good time to let you know a little more about Force24; the way we do things, how this differs from everyone else and why we love it.

Recently, I read a quote by Richard Branson that said, “Your employees are your best asset because happy employees make for happy customers.”

I have to say, I fundamentally disagree with this quote. And I know you can’t just ‘disagree’ with Richard Branson! So let me explain.

Your employees are your best asset. That much is indisputably true, especially at Force24. Our team is everything, and we’re incredibly proud of each and every one of them. However, we don’t look after our staff simply to make our customer and clients happy. At Force24, we have a truly ‘People First’ culture. We put our people first alright, but we do it not because a happy workforce means happy clients, and happy clients means a successful business. We do it because it’s the right thing to do for our people. 

Which incidentally has the same effect.

So how does this differ? Well, the benefits we provide for our staff are focused on them. We listen to their feedback, what they want and need from us, as their employer, and we act on it whenever we can.

What does this mean for our staff?

You’d be forgiven for saying that some of our offerings are a little unorthodox, but they’ve been suggested by the people, so that’s all that matters to us.

So what do I mean when I say our way is unorthodox?

Well, we offer weekly yoga sessions, dinner each day cooked by our on-site chef and numerous outings and socials.

Not only that, but we’re firm believers that our people should grow and prosper within our company. We want to make them feel empowered to make their own decisions. Whether they fail or succeed, they’ll know that they’re always supported by their colleagues and friends.

Author Simon Sinek says, “Great companies don’t hire skilled people and motivate them. They hire already motivated people and inspire them. People are either motivated or they are not. Unless you give motivated people something to believe in, something bigger than their job to work toward, they will motivate themselves to find a new job and you’ll be stuck with whoever’s left.”

We take this approach when hiring for any member to join the Force24 team. No matter where they sit within the team, they have to be a perfect fit culturally.

As the team changes, no doubt the benefits we offer will too. They’ll be pushed and pulled until they fall into place as the team evolves. That’s what it means to be truly ‘People First’.
